Lake Winnipesaukee

About Us

Located on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee our lake frontage and land area were once part of the Indian village known as Aquedoctan. From this vantage point the White Mountains, Mt. Chocorua, the Ossipee Range and Mt. Washington present an impressive backdrop to the large open areas of Weirs Bay. Passing before Abakee is a constantly changing array of lake craft, from canoes to cruisers of ocean-going size.  We are in a natural and secluded setting at the end of a private road, away from traffic nuisance and noise. An extensive shorefront and a sandy bottom and affords a protected beach area for youngsters.

For 58 years Abakee’s friendly atmosphere has generated friendships among families and children and become an annual vacation tradition. The cottages are well separated, comfortably furnished, fully housekeeping and each has its own outside grill and picnic table. A short ride will bring you to the laundromat, the supermarket, the church, Weirs Beach recreation area, a water slide, several fine golf courses, a theatre and many fine restaurants. Day trips to the mountains are easily made from Abakee where you may view such wonders as the Flume and Franconia Notch. But one of the most beautiful sights you will see is the view from Abakee.
